"When we bought our current home, we inherited a moisture issue in our crawlspace that had existed for years. I got a reference for Bay Area Moisture Control from a contractor who had gone to them when he himself needed to deal with a similar issue. ...And, wow - the finished product is truly beautiful. My dirty crawlspace is so pristine that I actually went down there and crawled around - I would NEVER have set foot in there previously."

"We had a musky smell coming from under the house. We called for an evaluation. Met the evaluator and instantly felt a connection. He didn’t try to sell us extras. We only needed a vapor barrier and no pumps. The crew was very professional, courteous and did an amazing job. This customer had a POSITIVE experience with this business. This customer WOULD recommend the business to a friend, family member, neighbor or colleague."

I cannot recommend Bay Area Moisture Control enough. We’ve had water problems in our basement, we have two sump pumps, and we installed a French drain in our crawl space. We spent lots of money without a solution to the problem, and we got estimates and proposals from many companies along the way. None of these helped. Bay Area Moisture Control took the time to figure out how to resolve our water issues. They installed a sump pump in our basement and a complicated piping system, and we’ve now gone through a very wet winter without any problems! And even better the prices are super reasonable, the workmanship was excellent, and Nory was responsive and really took the time to figure out our problem. We’re grateful that this company exists."

"This company is fantastic. From the initial inspection, to the communication with the office, and finally to the execution of the work, the experience was nothing short of perfect. Bay Area Moisture Control installed a trenched sump system, followed by a CleanSpace encapsulation of my roughly 1800 square foot dirt crawlspace. I just spent 45 minutes crawling on my stomach and squeezing between ducting and floor joists to inspect their work, and I am super pleased with what they did. These days it is hard to have expectations surpassed, but that is exactly what BAMC did for me. I will no longer dread wet winters!"
We provide wet crawl space and wet basement solutions throughout the Bay Area.
Basement water infiltration is not an uncommon problem. We at Bay Area Moisture Control encounter this issue fairly regularly. Unfortunately, we cannot. Every situation is unique, and we need to perform an on site evaluation in order to properly assess and develop a situation that fits your home’s needs. There are too many variables to be able to devise a solution with just a phone call. Please call our office at 415.884.0500 for a free evaluation so we can determine what would be best for your situation.
If you hear your sump pump alarm it most likely is an indicator of two things. Either your power is out or the pump finally kicked the bucket. Please see our blog post for further details on how to handle this situation.
Yes, all pumps require electricity to work. We recommend a dedicated circuit be set up for a sump pump. It’s not uncommon to use an extension cord as a temporary solution till the electrician does his/her work to set you up properly. To have a dedicated circuit without the use of an extension cord is the recommended and preferred method. We also have a battery backup pump system that can be incorporated in your design if that is of an interest to you. Please call our office at 415.884.0500 for a free evaluation so we can determine what would be best for your situation.
Our system installations have some form of an alarm system incorporated. If you are not hearing an alarm, that is a very strong indicator that your pump is working. If you do hear your alarm, it’s an early warning system that water has triggered it. If you do hear the alarm, check your power. If you have exhausted all power issues then your pump may have finally seen the end of it’s life. At Bay Area Moisture Control, we have a service department to help ensure that your system is working as it did on day one. If having one of our technicians out to service your pump and alarm is of an interest to you please contact our office to schedule an appointment. Please call our office at 415.884.0500 to set up an appointment.
Mold needs four things to grow: moisture, oxygen, food (organic material), and sufficient heat. The only one of those items that can reasonably be controlled is moisture. Our pump and encapsulation systems are an excellent way to help control that unwanted moisture in your crawlspace. This denial of moisture to the environment is an excellent way to prevent mold from ever developing in the crawlspace.
